Contact Land for Good: Need one-on-one help finding the right piece of farmland for you? Contact Land for Good to sign up for free consultation with their RI Field Agent, Katie Steere. Land For Good is a regional organization working to help farmers access land across the New England region.

DEM’s Farmland Access Program: This new program, currently in the start-up phase, allows the Department to partner with the State’s Agricultural Land Preservation Commission to purchase farmland, protect it, and affordably sell it to farmers looking for land. Stay tuned for future farmland purchase opportunities.

Consider DEM’s Farmland Access Program. For farmland owners who are ready to sell their land, this program provides an alternative to development. We pay fair market value for farmland and will ensure your farm remains in agriculture. Once DEM purchases the land, we will place permanent agricultural restrictions on the property, and will then sell it to a farmer who is looking for additional land or just starting out.
